Alfred Seema

Alfred Seema joined Eskom in November 2024 as Group Executive for Strategic Delivery, bringing with him 27 years of experience in the energy and petrochemical sectors, primarily at Sasol and PetroSA. His career reflects deep expertise in engineering design, project & Business Development,  gas value chain development, large-scale project execution, and strategic transformation.

At Sasol, Mr Seema served as Vice President for Gas Business, where he oversaw the full gas portfolio, including upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. This included managing pipeline infrastructure from Mozambique to South Africa and servicing over 300 industrial customers. Prior to this, he held the role of Vice President for Gas Sourcing and Business Development.

Earlier in his career, as General Manager Strategy and Business Development at Sasol Synfuels, Mr Seema led the company’s strategic transition from coal to cleaner liquefied natural gas (LNG), positioning Sasol for a more sustainable future.

In his current role at Eskom, Mr Seema is responsible for Eskom’s gas strategy, leading strategic delivery initiatives, including the unbundling programme, oversight of Eskom Enterprises, and driving the Transformation Office key pillars of Eskom’s modernisation and restructuring strategy & financial sustainability  of Eskom and the subsidiaries into the future.
